What is the maintenance for a well pump?
There is no true maintenance for a well pump, on average they last between 10 to 15 years depending on, static water level, depth, quality of the water and of course usage.
What is the maintenance for a holding tank?
Holding tank/ pressure tanks want to be balanced to its switch pressure unless you have a constant pressure system. If you remove the gray box, (“keep in mind there is voltage there”) look under it should say 30-50 40-60 60-80 most commonly 40-60. The pressure tank has a schrader valve just like a car tire on the top, if you were to turn the breaker off to the well tank, and run the cold water until it stops you can get an accurate reading off the valve. You want the low end pressure to be as an example for a 40-60 at 40 lbs plus or minus two pounds is fine. This prolongs the life of your well pump and holding tank.
Why is there water coming up out of the ground near my well or my well pump never shuts off?
If there is a great deal of saturation or water around your well or you hear a hissing sound you might have a leak outside the casing at the pitless adapter or inside the well itself. Sometimes the culprit can be a running toilet.
I lost power and then ran out of water?
Sometimes there are low pressure handles on the side of pressure switches which need to be held in order for the switch to fall back into its correct parameters. If a switch with a low pressure handle falls out of parameters it will not be able to run until manually assisted.
Do we give free diagnosis?
yes we do within reason, we are a small family run company and we are happy to help. However, we are small and want to assist everyone, so abusing this isn’t kind. If we are driving over an hour away, please let us assist or do our best to give a diagnosis over the phone first. We are located in Nokesville VA.
We lost water. How quickly can you get here?
We make you the priority. No water calls take seniority, and we have a very good track record of providing same day service. As in you lose water at 6 am we are there by 9 to 10 am and back in water typically by noon. Keep in mind for our other calls we do our best to get to you, and we do our best to communicate.
