Our shop is here, so we are too
Nokesville is home. Oasis Well Service is based right here in 20181. Ken Lindgren and his brother Steve started the company in 1987. John, Ken’s son, runs it now, and Ken’s grandson Brandon is the third generation on the trucks.
Being local matters most when the taps go dry. Nokesville is usually our shortest drive, so a no-water call here tends to move fast.
What goes wrong with a well pump out here
Most homes along Route 28 and on the farm properties around town run on private wells. The pump calls we get tend to fall into a few groups:
- No water at all. Often a failed pump, a tripped breaker, or a pressure switch that dropped out after a storm knocked the power off. See lost water after a power outage.
- Pump runs and runs. Sometimes it is a leak in the line, sometimes a running toilet, sometimes a worn pump that cannot build pressure.
- Breaker keeps tripping. That points to a motor or wiring problem down the well. Leave it off and call.
- Weak pressure on a barn line or hydrant. Farm setups put more demand on a pump, and the tank matters too.
Water quality plays a part as well. Parts of Prince William sit on red shale and sandstone, where hard water and iron are common. Over the years that can wear on a pump and a pressure switch, so we keep an eye on it when we visit.
Two safe checks before you call
Look at the well breaker in your panel. If it tripped once, you can reset it one time. If it trips again, leave it off. You can also check the tank’s air charge with a tire gauge, with the power off and the water drained down. It should sit about 2 psi under the pump’s cut-in number. Our guide to checking pressure tank pressure walks through it. Do not open the pressure switch cover or touch any wiring.
Well pump repair in Nokesville, done once
Diagnosis is free. We find the real cause first, because a bad pressure tank or a leaking line can look like pump failure. When a pump does need replacing, we install Gould, Myers and Grundfos pumps, including constant pressure systems, and every pump install carries a 5-year warranty. Our certified technicians are licensed and insured, and the work meets county code.
A pump often lasts 10 to 15 years, depending on water level, depth, water quality and use. Read more on how long a well pump lasts.
