Before you reset that breaker again
If your well pump keeps tripping the breaker, stop resetting it. Turn the well breaker off and leave it off. A breaker that trips over and over is telling you something, and forcing the pump to restart can make a small problem worse.
Call 703-791-3981 and describe when it trips. Right when the pump starts? After it runs a while? That detail helps us narrow it down.
It also helps to know the age of the pump if you have paperwork. On average, pumps last 10 to 15 years. An older pump that starts tripping the breaker is a different conversation from a newer one.
Well pump repair in Stafford, and how we plan the visit
Stafford is part of our regular southern run. We serve homes in 22554 and 22556 along I-95, Route 1 and Route 610. That is why we start on the phone. Many times we can tell you what is going on without a visit.
When we do come out, we have the right parts on the truck. Read what free diagnosis covers for the details.
Three problems we hear about often
- Tripping breaker: can point to a failing pump motor or wiring issue. See why a well pump trips the breaker.
- Short cycling: the pump clicks on and off rapidly, often from a waterlogged or failed pressure tank.
- No water: call our emergency no-water service at 703-776-0996.
A pump that runs and never shuts off is another one. Before you blame the pump, check for a running toilet or a dripping outside spigot. A small leak can keep a pump running all day.
The work, done right
We diagnose first, then quote. If you need a new well pump, we install Gould, Myers or Grundfos with a 5-year warranty on the install. Tanks are Well-X-Trol. We are licensed and insured, and our work meets county code.
Water quality questions
If your water tastes, smells or looks wrong, start with a water test before any equipment. Smells, stains and cloudy water often have nothing to do with the pump, and a test keeps you from spending money on the wrong fix.
