How a Remington call usually goes
Remington sits down in southern Fauquier near the Rappahannock River. The lots run large out here, and nearly all of them are on private wells. We cover the whole 22734 area, and a no-water call is the top job of the day.
The best first step is a phone call to 703-791-3981. We will ask questions, listen, and tell you what we think is going on. If the answer is a tripped breaker, you just saved yourself a wait.
Signs you need well pump repair in Remington
- No water at any faucet.
- Pressure that fades during a shower.
- Air spitting from the taps.
- A pump that runs and never shuts off.
- A well breaker that trips again after you reset it once.
Some of these point to the pump. Others point to the tank, a leak, or even a running toilet keeping the pump on. Our post on signs your well pump is failing goes deeper.
A quick safe check before you call: look at the well breaker in your panel. If it tripped, turn it off and leave it off rather than resetting it again and again. Then walk out to the well and look for standing water or listen for hissing near the well head. Both details help us on the phone.
After heavy rain near the river
Heavy rain and flooding can let surface water into a well with a cracked casing or a poor cap. If your water turns cloudy or tastes off after a storm, stop drinking it until you know it is safe. Get a bacteria test. If the casing or cap is the weak spot, we handle well casing repair and sanitary caps.
If bacteria shows up
A test that comes back positive for coliform or E. coli is not the end of the world. Fixing the entry point comes first. After that, UV disinfection from GDS or Viqua can keep the water safe going forward.
What happens when we come out
We find the cause before we talk about parts. If the well pump has to be replaced, we install Gould, Myers or Grundfos with a 5-year warranty on the install. Work meets county code. For no water right now, call 703-776-0996.
We are a family company. Ken Lindgren started it in 1987, his son John runs it now, and his grandson Brandon is the third generation on the team. We would rather give you an honest answer by phone than sell you a pump you do not need.
